Registration of Death

Like all births, all deaths must be notified/registered as soon as possible. If ths is done within 24 hours of death no stamp duty is required. After 24 hours a stamp duty of RM 5.00 is imposed. After 7 days after death, registration is done only at the nearest National Registration Office and a stamp duty of RM 10.00 is required.

To register the Identity Card (IC) and the death certificate of the deceased are the two documents required.
